RR 2.4 - Texas Cup II

Event Description

It's the end of another wonderful season of robot combat in Texas. As usual, fairyweight, antweight, and beetleweight robots will go into the arena and battle it out to determine who will walk away with the most prestigious robot combat prize in the state. Will the current champions maintain their Robot Rebellion gold, or will we see new robots claim the titles this time around?

The place:
Banana RC Raceway
521 W Campbell Rd #300, Richardson, TX 75080

There will be pit tables and power strips available for all teams. The arena is 8 feet by 8 feet - freshly built and ready to take fighting robots. We have a recent addition this time around in the form of the Texas Twister - the old pit/spinner hazard from the legendary Team Think Tank arena. Fairyweights will have a divider placed in the arena, thus fighting in a 4x8 rectangle.

The price:
$20 for Fairyweights/UK Antweights
$25 for Antweights
$30 for Beetleweights

$1 for snacks and drinks, $3 for an energy drink, $3 for our legendary DARC dogs
$5 discount on all entry fees if you join TRC as a member.

The prize:
Custom trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all weight classes
Cash prizes for 1st in all weight classes($300 for Beetles, $200 for Ants, $100 for Fairies)
Gift certificates for 2nd and 3rd in all weight classes
Pogs for every win

The time:
December 15-16, 2018 - this is a two day event, our very first.

Pre-check-in and early safety starts Friday, December 14th, from 11am to 3pm. Check-in and safety will start Saturday, December 15th, at 9:30am.

Fights will start at noon and continue until 6pm on both days. The fights on Sunday may end sooner or later depending on how many fights are left.

The tournament:
Tournament structure will depend on the number of participants. 5 or less robots in a weight class will fight in a round robin tournament. 6 or more robots will fight in a double elimination tournament.
