Event Description
EVENT CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19 The Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia NC ( http://www.schielemuseum.org/ ) present The 10th Annual Schiele Museum "Clash of the Bots 2020". This will be a Bug event, for full combat up to 3 pounds fighting in an 8 x 8 arena, and a Bot Hockey competition which will be using a 12 ft. X 20 ft. arena for hockey bots up to 15 lbs. For Bot Hockey you can register as a team of 3 bots, or individuals that will be teamed up with other individuals to create teams. Schools bot hockey teams are encouraged to compete. There will be other robotic activities at the Museum during the event, so 900 MHz, 2.4GHz, or spectrum radios are required. Any other frequency must have prior approval. Kit Robots that have not undergone significant mechanical and aesthetic modifications may be less likely to be considered. If you are the original designer and builder of the kit or if you are a first time competitor you are exempt from this rule. Robots with active weapons will take precedence over wedge/pushey bots. A picture of your robot will be required on BuildersDB (If you can make a robot you can upload a picture) *****If Registration fills up then e-mail Chuck at chuckbutler.01@gmail.com to get on the waiting list**** Standard double elimination and SPARC rules apply. Event information: Location: Schiele Museum Gastonia NC Check-in and safety inspections: Friday night 6pm-7pm (Gotta finish up in time to go watch Battlebots) and Saturday 7-8:30am Builders’ meeting: 8:30am Competition: 9am-7pm (Museum Hours may be different) Fees: (includes 2 pit passes per robot) Fairyweight= $10 Antweight= $15 Beetleweight= $15 Bot Hockey=$No cost to enter!! This is a 15lb weight class. Once accepted, release form and payment will be due Midnight May 31st 2020. If Registration is full then anyone not paid and paperwork not received will be dropped to make room for others on the wait list and those waiting to sign up. Release Form located at; http://www.carolinacombat.com/AgreementCOB2020.pdf Some important rules: - 2 minute matches - No flame weapons. - No gas-powered robots. - If you are using LiPo’s, you must have LiPo bags. All Lipo batterys must be in a LiPo bag while charging. - Bring your own power strips. A weapon lock is required for all weapons. - A switch and power light is required.
