Bot Blast 2014

Event Description

GENERAL INFO:
Bot Blast is back in Bloomsburg, PA on July 19, 2014... Columbia Mall and Dreadfully Wicked Robots present our 7th annual insectweight combat robot tournament. The event takes place in the center court of the Columbia Mall just off I-80 in Bloomsburg, PA.

Trophies, plaques, and great prizes for the top 3 in each class, including the "Golden Light Tree" Championship Trophy to each class champion. Plus special awards for Best Engineered Robot, Coolest Robot, Best Driver, Sportsmanship Award, and a Long Distance Award for the team that travels the furthest to attend the event. Special awards/prizes will also be given to the Rumble winner in each class.

RULES PROCEDURES:
Bot Blast uses its own custom rule set, which can be found on our website at http://botblast.webs.com . Our rules are very similar to those used at most insectweight robot events including NERC RFL. DIRECTIONS:
The Columbia Mall is just off Interstate-80 Exit 232 (Buckhorn/Bloomsburg Exit) in Bloomsburg, PA. Address is: 225 Columbia Mall Dr, Bloomsburg PA 17815.

SCHEDULE:
8:00am: Doors open check-in begins
10:45am: Mandatory builders meeting
11:00am: Fights begin
**Builders- Robots MUST be through Safety/weigh-in before 10:45am or they will not be able to compete... arrive early!**
Event should be finished by 7pm
Awards Presentation to be held immediately after the finals
Please stick around a few minutes afterward if possible to help clean up and take down the arena

FEES:
$20 per Antweight (1lb), $25 per Beetleweight (3lb) and $25 per Mantisweight (6lb). Fees will be collected at the event check-in table. Cash or check. Please do not send payment before the event.

ARENA:
10 ft x 10 ft square, 6 ft tall, steel framed with with 1/4" lexan walls and roof. Steel bumpers. Wood floor. No pits/push-outs/hazards.

EVENT WAIVER:
Any person who enters the pit area must sign a release of liability. Everyone entering the pit area must sign one when your team arrives at the check-in table. All competitors or crew members under age 18 must also have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
