Bot Blast 2013

Event Description

GENERAL INFO:
Bot Blast is back in Bloomsburg, PA on July 20, 2013... Columbia Mall and Dreadfully Wicked Robots present this annual insectweight tournament (150g through 6 lb) for the 6th consecutive year. The event will take place in the center of the beautiful Columbia Mall just off I-80 in Bloomsburg, PA.

Awesome trophies, plaques, and great prizes for the top 3 in each class, including the "Golden Light Tree" Championship Trophy to each class champion. Plus special awards for Best Engineered Robot, Coolest Robot, Best Driver, and a Long Distance Award for the team that travels the furthest to attend the event. Special awards/prizes will also be given to the official Rumble winner in each class.

RULES PROCEDURES:
Beginning with the 2013 event, Bot Blast will use its own custom rule set, which can be found on our website at http://botblast.webs.com . Our rules are very similar to those used at most insectweight robot events including NERC RFL. DIRECTIONS:
The Columbia Mall is just off Interstate-80 Exit 232 (Buckhorn/Bloomsburg Exit) in Bloomsburg, PA. Address is: 225 Columbia Mall Dr, Bloomsburg PA 17815.

SCHEDULE:
8:00am: Doors open check-in begins
10:45am: Mandatory builders meeting
11:00am: First Fights
**Builders- Your robots MUST be through Safety before 10:45am or they will not be able to compete... arrive early!**
Event should be finished by 7pm
Awards Presentation to be held immediately after the final match
Please stick around a few minutes to help clean up and take down the arena

FEES:
$20 per Fleaweight (150g), $20 per Antweight (1lb), $25 per Beetleweight (3lb) and $25 per Mantisweight (6lb). Fees will be collected at the event check-in table. Cash or check. Please do not send payment before the event.

ARENA:
This year Bot Blast unveils a brand new state-of-the-art insectweight arena. Its 10 ft x 10 ft square and 6 ft tall with 1/4" lexan walls. Steel bumpers. Wood floor.

EVENT WAIVER:
ANYONE who enters the pit area must sign the release of liability. Everyone entering the pit area must sign one at the event when you arrive at check-in. ALL competitors or crew members under age 18 MUST ALSO have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
