Event Listing
This is Western Allied Robotics annual Hobby Expo Event.
The event is free to compete in but the Hobby Expo will charge an admittance fee for everyone. Parking is free and there will be food trucks on site.
We do ask for a $20 per bot donation that goes to our supporting non-profit the Seattle Robotics Society.
This is a 2 day event with different robot classes running on each day.
Saturday April 15th | Sunday April 16th |
Antweight | Fairyweight |
Beetleweight | Plastic Antweight |
Sportsman | Hobbyweight |
The rules can be found here... along with the special Plastic Antweight rules and the Sportsman Class rules in section 4.2 of the SPARC ruleset.
Registration notice!
- 1 bot per driver per weightclass: For the initial registration each driver will be allowed 1 bot per weight class in order to insure that there is room for new competitors. If registration doesn't reach capacity drivers can bring additional bots. Go ahead and register all of your bots. I'll put the extra bots on the wait-list and update things as we get closer to the event.
- Forefiting aginst yourself: If a team has two robots that are scheduled to compete the bots must fight each other so you'll need a radio for each robot. If you don't want them to fight each other then the winner will be decided by a coin toss. If a bot truely cannot continue due to damage it will be allowed to forefit at the event organizers descretion.
- Waitlist: If registration for a weightclass is full or if you have more than 1 bot-per-driver in a weightclass, you should add yourself to the waitlist. We typically get a fair amount of churn with registration so there is a good chance you will be moved over to the competition list. The waitlist is first-come-first-served.
As with all WAR events, we will have our double elimination format with a single elimination final. If a weight class has 5 or fewer robots we will do a round-robin.
