Event Description
GENERAL INFO:Small Bots of Mass Destruction is back @ The Martin County Fairgrounds starting on Saturday February 15th 2020... This two-day event is hosted by KurTrox along with Treasure Coast Makerspace. This EPIC event takes place at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Not only do you get to fight robots, but play on fair rides, see neat exhibits, and eat junk food!!
Trophies and great (Cash) prizes for the top 2 in each class, Special awards for the rumble winners, best engineered robot, coolest robot, best driver, sportsmanship award, highest hit, and more!
RULES PROCEDURES:
SBoMD uses a modified SPARC ruleset. Please visit our brand new SmallBots.US website for a detailed ruleset. Email event operator Abra Durjan for any questions regarding the rules. FLAMETHROWERS ARE ALLOWED!!!! and ENCOURAGED!
Each team is allowed a maximum of three robots per weight class. Each driver is only allowed to drive one robot per weight class. (Example: One team may enter 2 robots in the Beetleweight class, as long as there is a separate dedicated driver for each robot). This helps us mitigate delays from one driver with too many robots to repair later in the day.
During the competition it is imperative that you stay close by, within announcers voice, at all times. We dont want anyone to forfeit because it is their turn to compete and they cannot be found. We will have a break for lunch, but bring snacks (or a deep wallet) if you get hungry often.
DIRECTIONS:
The Martin County Fairgrounds are located on 2616 SE Dixie Hwy, Stuart, FL 34996. We will be located indoors with no AC, the airflow is good, we will have a few large fans. For those of you that attended last year, we are right next to the old spot, but inside the walled area, so the sunlight will not kill us in the afternoon. Invite your friends and family to watch the action live or on our Livestream!!!!
ACCOMMODATIONS:
This is a 2 day event, there are hotels and AirBnB rentals nearby. Anyone who wants to plan a vacay around this date can use their preferred choice to rent. We do have a deal this time. Mention that you are working at the fair as an entertainer when you call the Clarion Inn. Located in Stuart FL. Rates are about 50 a night? But they fill up fast.
