Event Description
Robot Renegades Summer Showdown (Stuart, FL)
Welcome to a summer event put on for the builders. The Martin County FIRST team, SPAM 180, has gratiously lent us their facility to host an event on Saturday August 17th.
This is a single day event so class counts will be capped lower than the multi day events.
Event Info:
- Classes:
- Plastic Ant: 16 Bots
- Ant: 16 Bots
- Beetle: 16 Bots
- Schedule
- Safety/Weigh In: 8AM-9:30AM
- Fights start at 10AM and run until we finish, hopefully somewhere between 6 and 8PM. Rumbles and grudges as time permits.
- Rules:
- SPARC ruleset with the following points of emphasis:
- Active Weapons Required. This is a venue rule. Similar to NHRL, "An active weapon is defined as a weapon or mechanism that operates independently from the robot's drivetrain or means of locomotion and is clearly designed to influence the opposing robot."
- EDIT, The venue owner squashed our flamethrower dreams so no flamethrowers, sorry.
- Plastic Ant Specs: Traditional SPARC Rules No nylons, No blends (CF, Glass etc), No TPU or metal etc. Regular PLA, PLA Pro styles are allowed such as PolyMax PLA.
- Pit: We have a pseudo pit, more of an OOTA zone in the corner, there's a reasonable chance to escape. If you go in the pit you have a 10 count to get out before KO is called.
- Exposed batteries are automatic forfeits
- One postponement
- Unsticks at the referee's discretion. Generally speaking there are no unsticks unless the bots are stuck together.
- Tapouts are allowed
- Match length: 2 minutes
- Double Elimination with a single final.
- Most Important Rule - **HAVE FUN**
VOLUNTEERS WELCOME: We're happy to have any available volunteers help with the event. If you have family/friends coming that aren't fond of sitting in the pits all day playing games on their phone we can always use help. Pit Runners, Judges, Safety, and possibly announcers. Please reach out directly to andyholzemer@gmail.com if interested.
