Event Description
This is an indoor event on the University of Oklahoma campus!
Covid Requirements: Due to this event taking place on campus, we ask all attendies to follow the Covid protocals listed by the University. The current requirements can be found here: University Masking Policy (ou.edu)
Location: This event will take place in the Will Rogers Room of the Oklahoma Memorial Union, on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The room is on the first floor of the Student Union.
Time: Competitors can begin arriving at 9:00 AM. Safety will begin as soon as the arena is ready (around 10:30 AM). We want matches to start at Noon. Please be on-site by 11:00AM so that we can get all of the robots through safety. The room is only reserved until 5:00PM, so the event must be concluded by that time.
Facilities: Tables and chairs are provided by the venue. Bathrooms are onsite. There is a food court in the student union, we ask that you do not bring your own food to the venue. Bring your own power strips and extension cords, there will be plenty of outlets but they may be spread out.
Arena: The arena is 8 ft x 8 ft x 2 ft tall with a wooden floor. There is a seam in the middle of the floor, but we do our best to minimize it.
Robots: Robots must meet the SPARC Robot Construction Specifications. A LiPo charging bag must be used when charging your batteries. Weapon locks and sharp edge covers must be used while the bot is outside of the arena.
Weight Classes: Ant (1 pound) and Beetle (3 pound). If you have a Fairy (150 gram) you are more than welcome to bring it for grudge matches. Once the tournaments are over, or during any dead time, we will hold grudge matches and rumbles for those that are interested. If you have a "house" or "demo" bot that you do not mind some spectators driving, please bring it.
Format: Dependent on number of entrants. Robots registered in tournament will be guaranteed at least two fights.
Fees: This event is free to spectate. The registration for the tournament is $20 per bot and will be handled at the event.
Prizes: Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each weight class. Winners pogs will be given out for each match victory
