Event Description
RCCR has been invited to the Alabama STEAMFest in Huntsville Alabama at the Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama!
This event has changed venues over the years but always has a huge crowd and plenty to see. Other attractions will include: stage shows, FIRST Robotics Exposition, a fosil exhibit, and multiple local buisinesses with STEM activities for everyone. This is more then just a robot competition, it's attached to a huge festival full of people that just want to celebrate all things STEAM!
Thanks to the many Sponsors that donate to the STEAMfest, this event is free for both competitors and the audience!
There will be foodtrucks and concesion stands at the festival.
Tables and chairs provided for pits. Plan to bring extension cords and power strips if needed, I will have a few but not enough for everyone.
This event is open to 1lb and 3lb robots. If anyone is interested, I can bring a Fairyweight arena as well for Exposition matches, just let me know ahead of time. The arena is 6' x 6', steal floor, and one corner has an Out of the Arena Zone. SPARC rules apply, if you plan to bring a robot with an unusual weapon please let me know ahead of time for approval. Tournament style will be double elimination or round robin depeningd on number of robots that show up for each class.
This event will take place from 10am to 4pm on October 24th, 2026. This will be a tighter schedule then previous years, so plan to be through safety inspection and start the brackets at 11am.
