Battling Bots, Brats, and Beer: An Unforgettable Night of Robotics and Revelry

Get ready to rumble at the Hands-On Science Center's (HOSC) Battling Bots, Brats, and Beer! event on August 10th from 5pm - 9pm! This night is more than just a typical robot tournement; it's a PARTY, a celebration of innovation, and the spirit of STEM, all wrapped up in a unique fundraiser supporting HOSC's educational endeavors. This event will be part of the HOSC STEM Soiree: Where Adults Play! event series! Prepare to engage in a tournament like no other, where fun meets fierce competition and every participant contributes to fostering a love for science and technology in our community.

*Remember this is a 21 year old plus event. All drivers, crew members, and spectators will be required to show ID. Children will be entertained in the auditorium by HOSC staff (sorry 18-20 year olds). Childcare will be limited for safety and fun. Register and then secure your childcare tickets ASAP.

Registration Details: In the spirit of inclusive fun and to ensure as many enthusiasts as possible can join, we're initially limiting registration to one robot per driver. The technical stuff:

*Remember this is a 21 year old plus event. All drivers, crew members, and spectators will be required to show ID. Children will be entertained in the auditorium by HOSC staff (sorry 18-20 year olds). Childcare will be limited for safety and fun. Register and then secure your childcare tickets ASAP.

*Drink and battle responsibily! Any driver that our judges feel, at their sole discretion, is visibly inebriated will be disqualified!

We will have a pit area with power and tables.

Competitors are encouraged to bring extension cords. We will be using SPARC rules, double elimination, single unstick per bot.

We are going to limit pin times to 5 second instead of 10.

 The competition will start at 5:00pm.  You can arrive any time after 3:00pm but BEFORE 4:15 to get ready.

Due to space drivers may have one adult crew members join them in the pit area. Other guests you would like to bring should purchase general guest tickets. 

Children will not be allowed into the pit or general admission areas after 5pm. Don't worry they will have fun actvities in the auditorium!

Some important rules:

• No flame weapons.
• No gas-powered robots.
• If you are using LiPo’s, you must have LiPo bags. All Lipo batterys must be in a LiPo bag while charging.
• Bring your own power strips and extension cords.
• A weapon lock is required for all weapons. 
• A power switch is required. A jumper is acceptable in place of a switch as long as it can be easily and quickly connected and disconnected. 
• No cleated wheels.
