Slugbotics' Precautions:
- This event will be held outdoors, please dress warmly if it's a cold day.
- If it is overcast or rainy, the arena will be located under the 2nd story bridge and pits will be moved inside and away from the rain.
- Masks are recommended.
- Pits are only accessible to builders and staff.
Pit Space:
- Please bring power strips, chairs, and tables! We will be under an awning so no need for ez-ups, and if it is raining, the pits will be inside a nearby classroom.
Tournament Rules:
- Following Modified SPARC General Rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xXDSJXkHBvfBLgVxA2r7ZsOnjg4UGKthaf1kO3nX4zA/
- Tournament structure will be double elimination or round robin depending on the number of entrants. Drivers are normally limited to one robot per class, but can waitlist multiple and will be promoted to fill slots a few days before the event. If you have a stipulating circumstance, please email an event organizer.

Instructions:
The competition will take place at Baskin Courtyard, at UC Santa Cruz. Loading/unloading will happen at Baskin Circle, and ParkMobile parking is available all day for competitors and spectators across the street in the Core West parking garage.
The main arena and all safety testing will happen outdoors in the courtyard, but pit space will be provided in an adjacent classroom (Engineering 2). Please do not solder indoors (or do any other fume-creating process), due to ventilation concerns. We will provide tables and fume mitigators outside instead. Additionally, due to university safety restrictions, leaded solder is not permitted.
The fairyweight and plastic antweight classes will be run staggered in a 6'x6' square arena with FRP flooring, provided by Bunny from Team Malice. The full-combat antweight class will be run in a steel-floored hexagon arena whose wall-to-wall distance is 6', provided by Diana from Team Skorpios. Both arenas will be swept for debris between matches. Huge shoutouts to Bunny and DIana for providing the arenas for this event.
Bots may not be operated outside the arena or test box, please see any of the event organizers for help with testing. When outside the arena or test box, all bots must have a weapon lock on. All bots must receive a safety checkoff by one of the designated safety officers before 10:15am (again, please talk to an event organizer for help or questions).
There will be a lunch break from 1:35 to 2:15pm (40 min) for competitors and spectators to relax. Concessions will be sold on-site, and other great options exist downtown like Pizza My Heart, Sala Thai, and Taqueria Los Pericos. Additionally, Skorpios from Team Skorpios and Malice from Team Malice will be on display and Bunny will have a booth with merchandise for fans!
Thanks to Repeat Robotics and Fingertech Robotics for sponsoring our event! The 1st place winners of all brackets will received $50 in credit, the 2nd place winners will receive $35 in credit, and the 3rd place winners will receive $20 in credit, in amounts varying per placement and weight-class. Additionally, podium placers in all brackets will receive a trophy with their placement, all match winners will receive an etched poker chip to represent their win, and all entrants will receive a laser-cut competitor chip.
