Event Description
Welcome to MICHIGAN MASHUP event #4 a MRCA Qualifier event
Event details:
Hello my fellow roboteers! We are once again partnered with MRCA and will be following the MRCA rulset in robot construction, event rules, and judging guidlines which can be found here: https://midwestrobotcombat.com/rules/. The event is hosted in the small town of Bloomingdale at a local telecommunications company there is a resonable amount of space with tables and chairs being provided. You will be required to bring your own extension cords and any equipment that is necessary for the repair and operation of your robots. The event will run as long as nessary but I am hoping to have it wrapped up by 7.
Spectators are welcome but everyone who attends the event will be expected to sign a basic waver before the competition begins.
I am tentatively hoping to start fights by 10:30am but it may possibly be later if setup takes longer then expected. You must have any bots that plan to compete signed in by 10am so i can get the brackets built. A $30 fee will be collected per robot to help cover arena and venue costs. Teams are only allowed to register 2 antweights and 1 beetle per driver. Please do be conscious however that this event will likly completly fill and only take slots that you are certain you will use.
There will be a basic looking over of your robot at time of check in to make sure it has a locking device and you are expected to have confirmed that it will failsafe before arriving at the competition. Failure to follow safe handling or if a robot does not failsafe during the competition may result in disqualification without fee reinbursment. To be clear we will not be doing a full failsafe check for every robot at the competition, you are expected to have done these before arrival. If you have concerns about if your robot will failsafe please use the box to test before competition start. We do reserve the right to require a test of any robot that we think may be a risk to the arena or spectators.
Competition details:
Arena is 8' x 8' x 4' and consists of laminate floor and 1/2 thickness of polycabonate on all transparent portions of the arena. The arena includes a pit that will become active in the last 60 seconds of the match.
Tournament style will be double elimination with small trophies awarded to the top 3 bots in each class.
If time allows a bot brawl including any driver that wants to be included from both groups will be held at the end of the day.

We are very please to be working with PALM BEACH BOTS! who will be providing prizes to our top 3 finalists in each class. Please check them out for all your combat robot needs at https://palmbeachbots.com/
